Shad Sinking Line Casting Techniques: Outing

Regan Burmeister, who runs the annual Shad Day Casting Church at Fletcher’s Cove has extended an invitation to PVFF members to learn tips on casting sinking lines. The event will be held on Sunday, March 12th, 2023 (8:00 to 11:30). Burmeister will discuss a wide variety of sinking lines AND even demo two-handed rods for shad and other fishing opportunities.
Burmeister is the president of the Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders. TPFR is a charter club of Fly Fishers International which focuses on the unique angling opportunities in our Nation’s River. The tidal Potomac River in the DC Metro area provides a world class fly rod fishery that many anglers overlook. From Great Falls to the Chesapeake Bay, the Potomac supports both resident and anadromous fish that are susceptible to fly rod techniques including shad, striped bass and white perch.
