Through Stream Link Education, PVFF will participate in a tree planting outing on Saturday, June 6th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event location will be at 16840 S. Seton Ave, Emmitsburg, MD 21727. The tree planting will occur along Tom’s Creek, a tributary to the Monocacy River. Stream Link volunteers plant trees to establish riparian buffer zones to promote healthy aquatic environments and local fisheries in Frederick County. Since 2014, Stream Link has planted approximately 41,000 trees with the help of over 5,200 volunteers. Trees have been planted along 12 different waterways that flow into the Monocacy River, the Potomac River. and ultimately into the Chesapeake Bay. PVFF has reserved 15 spots. Based on last year, the holes will be pre-dug so the level of effort for our volunteers is not strenuous. We had great numbers last fall so please come out and volunteer for a great cause. Those that are interested can certainly head over to the local trout waters after the event.
