Advanced Fly Tying

In July, we’re combining our beginner and advanced fly tying sessions. For this, we’ll be tying a “classic” and “soon-to-be classic” fly, the Mekelmop and the Mekelstone. These flies are fun and easy to put together for all levels of tyers. The Mekelstone imitates the stone fly nymph and has been successfully tested on Rockdale Run. The Mekelmop, tied on a jig hook, has caught fish in many locations. Get away from the heat and hang out with your favorite tyers! We will be meeting on July 16, at 7:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, West Patrick Street, Frederick, in Room 207.

We will supply materials and will be using black and white threads. If you are planning to attend we would greatly appreciate knowing in advance for planning purposes. Please email Don Fine.

If you would like to join us for the tying session but can’t make it in person, we will make this meeting available via Zoom. Please send me an email to Larry Forte so that we can send you the Zoom link prior to the start of the meeting.
