The Beginner’s fly tying class will be held on Monday, September 17th. Either Ray Ouellette or Don Fine will lead the tying that evening. The pattern chosen for the Beginner’s tying event will be the fly used by Ray to win the recently held PVFF “One-Fly” Contest on Catoctin Creek. Call it a terrestrial, call it an attractor pattern or simply call it ‘Ray’s Bug’, Ray ‘blew’ the other contestants away with landing 28 fish that day. We all will be indebted to Ray for sharing this fly pattern with those in attendance. As in past months the Beginner’s fly tying will be held in room 207 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 703 West Patrick Street, Frederick.
