Annual Family Club Picnic, “One – Fly Challenge” & Casting Competitions: June 11, 2019

By Dave Keane

It’s Picnic Time!

I hope you can join us at our June Meeting, which will be our Annual Family Picnic at the Catoctin Creek Park & Nature Center located at 2929 Sumantown Road, Middletown, MD. This will be held on Tuesday, June 11th and the fun will begin at 4:00 PM, with dinner starting around 6:30 PM. This is a family event, so please bring your family.

We will start at 4:00 PM with our third annual “One – Fly” Competition. This will be a fun event to see who can catch the most fish, of any species, on a single fly of their own choosing. You may not change flies during the contest, and if you lose your fly, then you’re finished in the competition. A $25.00 gift certificate will be awarded to the winner. The competition will start at 4:00 PM and end at 6:00 PM. Good luck to all as Ray Ouellette defends his 2018 Catch Title!

New this year at our Picnic will be a Casting Competition for both adults and youth. Lynn Ashe will be challenging casters to see who can hit the Hoola hoops. Prizes will be given out to the winners of the Youth and Adult Categories.

The Club will provide Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, rolls, condiments and tableware. All members are asked to bring either a covered dish, or desert to share. Please RSVP, if you have not already signed up at our last meeting.

You can register online or also send us an email with the number of people who will attend, and what food item you are planning to bring to the Picnic.

It promises to be a fun evening. I hope you will join us on the 11th!
