Jan. 2019 Club Meeting: “Finding Joe Brooks”

Joe Brooks

We hope you can join us at our first Meeting of 2019 on Tuesday, January 8th at 7:00 PM. We will show the new movie, Finding Joe Brooks, a 90 minute feature documentary about the fly-fishing legend who was a pioneer of the sport.

From the folks behind the film – the Joe Brooks Foundation: “In his 71 years Joe Brooks lived three lifetimes. From his privileged youth, to a broken alcoholic, to one of the most revered sportsmen of his time. Joe’s life is as complex as it is inspirational. Few people manage to change themselves in any meaningful way. But Joe did and, in doing so, he changed the world.”

The documentary was produced by his nephews, Michael and Joe Brooks. They are also part of the Joe Brooks Foundation and their mission is to support the efforts of non-profit organizations working in the world of fly-fishing to advance the sport, engage the next generation of fishermen and preserve fish populations and water resources.

I hope you will be able to join us on the 8th. Proceeds from the evenings’ 50/50 Raffle will be donated to the Joe Brooks Foundation. We will also accept and encourage Club member donations, which we will also send to the Foundation.
