First Advanced Fly Tying Gathering: the X-Caddis

The X-Caddis

After several months of talking about it and planning it, we had our first Advanced Fly Tying meeting via Zoom on Wednesday, January 20. Don Fine led the evening and did a great job sharing with everyone how to tie the modified X-Caddis.

The X-Caddis is a quick-tie fly pattern developed by Craig Matthews, a well-known and respected fly tier in the Yellowstone Park area of our country. It was a fun evening!  I am looking forward to tying a few more and trying them out on Town Creek this spring.

Interested? We would love for you to join us. Here’s how it works. Each participant is responsible for leading a tying session for a monthly meeting during the year. You select the fly and show how it is tied during the meeting. If we have 12 members, you would lead the session once per year. If you are interested, please let me or Don Fine know. Get more details and sign up here.

There is no deadline to register. Our next event is on February 17 at 7:00pm on Zoom. We hope to see you there!
